Our Lodge
Family Owned Business in the Eastern Sierras over 91 years
Welcome to our slice of paradise
Lake View Lodge is owned and operated by 4th generation Tim Banta and his family. At an elevation of 6,780 feet in the Eastern Sierra, it is open year-round and Lake View Lodge offers accommodations to suit nearly everyone. The friendly staff looks forward to serving you, your family, or friends in the near future.
The lodge is midway between Los Angeles and the Reno-Tahoe area on the south side of Lee Vining along Highway 395. It is next to the Mono Market and across the street from Beaver’s Sporting Goods. Family-style restaurants are close by along with a number of gift stores and specialty shops. The Chamber of Commerce and Mono Lake Committee’s Visitors Center are just down the street. The Old House School Museum is a short four-block walk.
The lodge is situated among many mature trees, expansive lawns, and an abundance of brightly colored flowers. Wake up early and enjoy the sunrise from one of the comfortable chairs in the park-like setting on the grounds. This is also an excellent place to relax with a cool drink after a day of exploring “our great backyard”, which boasts Mono Lake, the old Bodie Ghost Town, Tuolumne Meadows, and Yosemite.
Summer days are generally warm while the evenings are usually cool. Fall is an ideal time to visit as temperatures are mild and the aspens explode with color. Winter finds amazing views with snow in the mountains and clear crisp views of the lake. Springtime features full creeks and brightly colored flowers sprouting among patches of snow.
